The 12 Color Seasons: Find Your Personal Color Palette

Seasonal color analysis finds the colors that make your skin, hair and eyes look their best. It sorts every palette into twelve seasons, grouped into Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Here is how the system works, with a full palette guide for each season.

Three dimensions behind every season

Each of the 12 seasons is a different combination of three qualities. Knowing where you sit on each one narrows 12 seasons down to one or two.

Undertone

Warm or cool?

CoolWarm

Warm palettes lean golden, peachy or olive-yellow; cool palettes lean pink, blue or red-violet. This is the biggest single driver of whether a color flatters you.

Depth

Light or deep?

LightDeep

How much light or dark your overall coloring carries. Light seasons look best in airy, pale shades; deep seasons carry dark, rich shades without being overwhelmed.

Chroma

Soft or bright?

SoftBright

How clear or muted your coloring is. Bright seasons suit clean, saturated colors; soft seasons suit dusty, blended ones that do not compete with a low-contrast face.

Four families, twelve seasons

The four families share a general feel, and each splits into three seasons that tilt toward light, warm, bright, cool, soft or deep. Open any season for its full 30-color palette.

How to find your season

  1. 01

    Take the quiz

Ten questions about your veins, hair, eyes and how colors look near your face. It takes about two minutes.

  2. 02

    Compare your top two

Open the palette pages for your result and its closest alternatives, and hold the colors up to your face in daylight.

  3. 03

    Confirm with a drape

For the most precise answer, try fabrics in person or book a professional draping session.

A quiz is a guide, not a diagnosis; in-person draping is more precise.
